The Project

Cairn Homes aim to construct 105 three and four-bed houses as part of its 18-acre site near Fortunestown Lane, on land known as Cooldown Commons.

The houses have a full redbrick façade or a brick-and-render finish, with a grey hardwood front door set in a recessed porch. There is reconstituted stone to the surrounds and sills of the uPVC, double-glazed windows surrounds. A Kilsaran paved front driveway completes these beautiful homes.

To the rear, French doors from the kitchen/diner open onto another paved patio and garden.

The Product

Kilsaran’s Newgrange Silver Granite and  Clima-Pave in Black Granite was specified for the project. During this phase of construction, 500m2 of the product was laid in both silver and black granite paving to put the finishing touches to the development.

The subtle granite textured surface of the Newgrange range combined with a modern colour palette complete a modern look to any driveway or patio area. These blocks were laid in a three size mix pattern.

The Process

Kilsaran’s Clima-Pave paving was chosen as an alternative to conventional paving as it allows water to filter through the paved structure rather than running off it. Both the surface and the sub-sections need to be designed with this function at the forefront.

Residual water filters directly into the subsoil where conditions are suitable. Kilsaran Silver Granite Jointing Sand was used with our Kilsaran’s Silver
Granite.
