Underwater concrete is intended to be placed either underwater or in wet environments where a normal concrete mix would not be suitable.
Specialist admixtures and a specific concrete mix is used to provide a highly viscous concrete. Typical applications are bridge foundations and repairs, marine foundation and structures, challenging piled foundation environments and water treatment facility applications.
The product can be placed in fully wet environments or applications where coffer dams are put in place and the water removed but the conditions may still be wet.
Unlike conventional concrete which would rapidly disperse and separate in water, underwater concrete as a highly viscous mix, will not ‘wash-out’ when placed correctly. Underwater concrete should only placed by suitably knowledgeable and experienced specialist personnel.
