Technical Officer – Dunboyne, Co.Meath
An exciting opportunity to join Ireland’s leading independent manufacturer of concrete products and construction materials. We are currently looking for a Technical Officer. This role is based at our Head Office in Piercetown, Dunboyne, Co. Meath, Ireland
The role on offer is a full-time permanent position ordinarily based on a 45-hour working week. Must have own transport or arrangements to travel to work as the site is not accessible by public transport. Free on-site parking is available.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
- Review incoming requests for product technical information from internal sources and external customers
- Assess incoming requests to determine next actions and either provide the requisite information or seek assistance from a relevant colleague to complete the request
- Review received concrete specifications to determine mix design requirements (no experience needed – full training will be provided) and provide advice accordingly
- Review and process customer approvals of concrete mix designs and set up concrete mixes to enable them to be batched at the concrete plant
- Provide telephone and email support to Sales, Technical and Operations Staff as well as customers
- Complete routine reports as required by the Management Team
Qualifications & Experience:
- The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience as a Concrete Technician / Concrete Technologist including onsite support of concrete pours and a good knowledge of concrete technology and concrete operations.
- However, the role may suit a less experienced candidate with an interest in the general construction industry and building materials who wishes to develop their skillset further and complete appropriate training.
Skills & Abilities:
- Good mathematical and numerical skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proven I.T. skills including strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel etc.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent time management ability
- A full driving licence valid in Ireland should the occasional need to travel for work arise. (This is desirable but not essential)
